Clifford Woolf, MB, BCh, PhD was announced as the recipient of the 2025 United States Association for the Study of Pain (USASP) Gold-Haythornthwaite Lifetime Achievement Award.  

This prestigious honor recognizes his extraordinary contributions to the field of pain research,  and celebrates his outstanding achievements.

Throughout Dr. Woolf’s distinguished career, he has demonstrated unparalleled dedication, leadership, and innovation in advancing our understanding of the different forms of neuronal plasticity that contribute both to adaptive and maladaptive changes in the mammalian nervous system and their relation to pain and treatment of pain. His pioneering research, groundbreaking discoveries, and commitment to training the next generation of pain professionals has profoundly impacted the field and improved countless lives.

He was recognized at the USASP’s annual meeting on May 1 in Chicago.
